2019 Toyota C-HR Review

The sporty and fun 2019 Toyota C-HR zips around city streets, zooms along highways, and is packed with a range of features designed to keep drivers and passengers entertained. The Toyota of Des Moines sales team is proud to show off the C-HR on our lot near West Des Moines, Des Moines, and Grimes.

In this review of the 2019 C-HR, we’re taking a closer look at the things that matter to drivers: interior amenities, tech features, and safety.

C-HR Interior Amenities

Inside the C-HR, there’s space for up to five people, with the front- and backseat providing plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the ride, whether it’s around the corner or across the country. The C-HR Limited model features a range of interior niceties, but the leather-trimmed seats stand out, giving the cabin a welcoming feel.

The leather-wrapped shift knob comes standard in the base model of the 2019 C-HR. The available leather-trimmed steering wheel gives a sporty yet elegant feel to the interior. You may also have a differing opinion from the person inside the vehicle with you of what hot or cold means. The standard dual-zone automatic climate control allows both the driver and front passenger to set things to their liking.

Cold mornings and chilly nights can leave us feeling not so warm and fuzzy inside. The Toyota C-HR, however, can, thanks to the available heated fronted seats, keeping you happy when the temperatures tumble.

Tech Features

Technology is all around us these days. The Toyota C-HR comes prepared, with a standard 8-inch audio display. The touchscreen gives you control over the Entune™ 3.0 App Suite, along with Apple CarPlay™. Connect your smartphone to the touchscreen and have access to music, read text messages, and use map functionality to get to your destination.

The standard 4.2-inch TFT Multi-Information Display provides a range of important information at a glance. See how many miles per gallon you’re getting, check the outside temperature, and view trip information, all displayed in the dash area.

Toyota Safety

The standard Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P) provides you with a range of tech features designed to keep you aware of your surroundings while out on the road.

This suite includes:

Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: With forward-sensing radar and an intelligent camera, the system tracks the speed and distance of the car in front of you, and adjusts speed as needed.

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: This scans the road up ahead, and can identify objects such as another car or a pedestrian. An alert will sound when a collision is possible, and automatic braking can help mitigate crash potential.

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist: If your vehicle is detected to be leaving the lane it’s in, an audible alert and visual warning will display on the Multi-Information Display screen. Corrective steering torque will kick in to keep the C-HR in its lane.
