Toyota Corolla Hybrid Performance

With its sporty handling and capable performance, the Toyota Corolla Hybrid is fun to drive. It’s even more fun when you realize you won’t need to fill up at the pump as often as you would with a regular gas-powered vehicle. It carries an EPA-estimated 52 combined MPG¹ and includes things like Hybrid Power Mode, which increases the response of the throttle for a more thrilling drive.

The 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine features Hybrid Synergy Drive, and is mated to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. The nickel-metal hydride battery is located in the perfect spot, providing balance and proper weight distribution.

Between the 4-cylinder engine and pair of electric motors, the Corolla puts out 121 horsepower. It’s a powertrain that’s capable for the daily drives, with smooth transitions between gas and electric power.

Step inside the 2020 Corolla Hybrid, and you’ll be greeted by an interior that’s sporty and welcoming. The 8-inch touchscreen comes standard, which is Apple CarPlay® compatible. The spacious cabin offers 38.3 inches of headroom and 42.3 inches of legroom up front. Despite being labeled a compact car, once you’re inside, it will feel anything but that. If you need more space, the 60/40 split fold-down rear seat comes in handy.

Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 comes standard in the Corolla Hybrid. What does that mean for you? It means a safer driving experience, thanks to the safety tech you’ll have access to. The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection can detect a vehicle or pedestrian up ahead, providing an audio/visual alert warning you of a possible collision. If you aren’t able to apply the brakes in time, they may be applied automatically to help avoid a crash.

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection comes standard, too. The Multi-Information Display screen will display an audible and visual alert if the system determines you’re straying from the lane you’re in. Corrective steering will be provided to keep the Corolla in its lane.
