Charging Options
For drivers who may be new to the EV segment, charging is often one of the biggest questions. The good news is that the bZ4X makes keeping up with your busy schedule easy. You’ll have three different charging options, starting with Level 1: 120-Volt charging. This is the slowest charging speed but the advantage is that you can plug it into any 3-prong outlet, such as one in your garage. On average you’ll get four miles per hour of charge1, which is plenty if you only drive a few miles during the day and just need to top off at night. For faster charging you can install a Level 2: 240-Volt charging system at your home or find a local public charging station. During urgent situations where you need maximum charge in a short period of time, the bZ4X is compatible with DC Fast Charging.
Performance
The 2023 bZ4X is one of the first vehicles to show off Toyota’s new e-TNGA platform. Designed to meet the growing interest in electric vehicle technology, this platform includes a balance of power, ride quality, and electric mileage. Standard FWD models come equipped with one electric motor and achieve 201-hp with 186 lb.-ft. of maximum torque. If you decide to go with an AWD version, you’ll have two electric motors that can crank out 214-hp and 248 lb.-ft. of max torque. When taking a look at the distance you can go on a full charge, FWD models offer an estimated 252 miles2 and AWD models average up to 228 miles2. Regenerative Braking with Boost Mode is another advanced performance element that helps you stay on the move in Des Moines and beyond.
Interior Features
Inside the bZ4X you’ll find an impressive amount of space. This EV crossover is equally suited for families and travel enthusiasts, boasting a 60/40 split-folding rear seat and a height-adjustable rear cargo deck board. Had my car towed to Toyota on a Monday.

Thursday I finally get a call with what needs to be done which was a lot for a 2004 car. Had Friday off so I was planning to figure things out the next day? No one told me it was drivable (which it was) so I'm thinking probably need to get a new car?? I had to work till 9 pm on Thursday (had to find a ride) and grandbaby on the way (had to find a ride to the hospital) spent all night at the hospital and all day Friday. Called Toyota to plead for a loaner so I could get to work and be mobile the answer was "no" if you are trying to sell cars that is not the way to do it! So I rented a car because I needed to get to work Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 300 dollars and I owe Toyota 500 for just looking at the car! I had Tuesday off so I called Monday to see what needed to be fixed to make it drivable so I could get it home or to another dealership! That's when they told me it was drivable!?!? Seriously!! That would of been nice to know 4 days ago!! Only help I got was a ride to Toyota to pay my bill! I told them, when paying my bill, that it would of been nice to know my car was drivable because I rented a car! No "I'm sorry" nothing! ”
